330 Center Street

Birthplace of Dungeons & Dragons

The Gygax Memorial Fund has supported and aided 330 Center Street, the Birthplace of Dungeons & Dragons® and the home’s owner, Yolanda Frontany’s efforts to present a museum of Gary Gygax and D&D® where people can explore and sit down to play in the very home where D&D® was created and first played!

Yolanda has been a fantastic partner and an amazing custodian of the legacy of Gary Gygax and his original home at 330 Center Street.

To the right, from March 25, 2023, can be seen 330 Center Street, the Birthplace of Dungeons & Dragons® and a huge group of players being led by the Gygax Memorial Fund’s President, Paul Stormberg, on a D&D® adventure through Gary Gygax’s and his co-DM, Rob Kuntz’s original castle levels—the original playtest castle dungeons prior to the creation of D&D®!

On October 12th, 2023, the Gygax Memorial Fund donated a 6 foot by 10 foot sand table and an array of figures for gaming to 330 Center St.—The Birthplace of D&D®! The sand table is a replica of the table used by Gary and his friends to playtest the CHAINMAIL fantasy war gaming rules, much of which would later be incorporated into Dungeons & Dragons®!

This tiny home was the beginning of a phenomena that changed the world and will be forever known as, The Birthplace of D&D®!
