Originally, this house served as the offices of Powell and Associates, the advertising firm that handled advertising for TSR Hobbies in the late 1970s. Operated by Gary's wife at the time, Mary Jo (nee Powell), she would arrange photo shoots with their daughter Elise as a model. Later Gary & Gail Gygax would move from their Dragonlands home in Clinton to this house in the late 1980s. Deciding they wanted their son Alex to have a more ample yard to play, they moved in June of 1990 to their final residence at 316 Madison Street (#31).
