On March 25th, 2024 the City of Lake Geneva’s Plan City Council voted unanimously to approve the donation application for the Gygax Memorial at the west end of Library Park! Fundraising on Kickstarter to raise additional money necessary to fund project to begin July, 2024.

On March 18th, 2024 the City of Lake Geneva’s Plan Commission voted unanimously to approve the site plan for the Gygax Memorial at the west end of Library Park.The City Council will vote on whether to accept the donation of the Memorial to the City of Lake Geneva on March 25th.

On February 20th, 2024 the City of Lake Geneva’s Board of Park Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of the placement of the Gygax Memorial at the west end of Library Park. A place where Gary would spend his days reading books and dreaming of becoming a fantasy novelist. The City Council will vote on whether to accept the donation of the Memorial to the City of Lake Geneva on March 11th.

Our Christmas “Treasure Tree” didn’t win best tree but according to staff was the most popular with the children who attended—that’s a win in our estimation!

At the Lake Geneva Committee of the Whole meeting the Gygax Memorial Fund President Paul Stormberg made an after action report of the inaugural Dragon Days Fantasy Festival held October 13th through 15th in Lake Geneva.
Geneva Lake Museum The Wizard of Lake Geneva™ exhibit opened to the public
On October 14th, 2023, in cooperation with the Geneva Lake Museum we opened The Wizard of Lake Geneva™ exhibit at the Geneva Lake Museum to the public. The exhibit features Lake Geneva’s most famous son, Gary Gygax, his accomplishments and legacy, and his connection to the City of Lake Geneva.
DRAGON DAYS™ Fantasy Festival Soft Open
On October 13th (Friday the 13th!) we opened the 1st annual DRAGON DAYS™ Fantasy Festival. Heidi Gygax, daughter of Gary Gygax, cut the silver cord during opening ceremonies Friday evening.
This city-wide event was a 3-day festival in the City of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, celebrating the accomplishments and legacy of Gary Gygax and his contributions to Lake Geneva and the world. Sand Table donated to 330 Center St.—The Birthplace of D&D®
On October 12th, 2023, the Gygax Memorial Fund donated a 6 foot by 10 foot sand table and an array of figures to 330 Center St.—The Birthplace of D&D®! The sand table is a replica of the table used by Gary and his friends to playtest the CHAINMAIL fantasy war gaming rules, much of which would be later be incorporated into D&D®!
The Adventurer’s Map of Lake Geneva Dedicated
On September 26th, 2023, a walking tour map, The Adventurer’s Map of Lake Geneva, featuring the locations important to Gary's history in Lake Geneva—was dedicated at 2 pm at 330 Center Street, The Birthplace of D&D®!
